Missouri was expected to be an afterthought in the SEC in 2013. The same belief was held regarding the 2014 recruiting class. Well, the Tigers control their own destiny in the SEC, and their 2014 class is emerging into a top-40 class nationally.
Expect the Tigers to rise in the class rankings as ESPN 300 outside linebacker Brandon Lee (Indianapolis/Lawrence Central) committed to Mizzou at a Friday ceremony at his high school. Several outlets, including 247 Sports, reported the commitment.
The four-star prospect is the second highest-rated prospect in the Tigers’ class of 26 commitments.
As Gary Pinkel’s team emerged as an SEC East contender, they emerged as a landing spot for the No. 239 player nationally. Pinkel began making a late push for Lee, who set a Nov. 8 decision date months in advance. The Tigers crept up the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Lee’s top group before sealing the deal on an official visit to Columbia, Mo., last weekend.
