Los Angeles Harbor College (Wilmington, Calif.) cornerback Ola Falemi has become the latest junior college verbal for Texas Tech, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.
Idaho and Morgan State also offered the 5-foot-10, 170-pound talent. Other programs including Arizona State and San Jose State showed interest.
“They have chemistry,” Falemi said. “They’ve been together a long time, the new coaches that came on the defensive side, so I really like that. The school is nice, the program is nice, so I’m ready to play at Texas Tech.”
Falemi is originally from Lagos, Nigeria and moved to the United States in 2000. Another Red Raiders verbal, three-star outside linebacker Micah Awe (Arlington, Texas/Summit), is also from Lagos.
Texas Tech has nine junior college recruits for 2012, most on the defensive side of the ball.
