Rams add combine standout Josh Watson

Inside linebacker Josh Watson (Blue Springs, Mo./South) received his first FBS scholarship offer from Colorado State and has committed to the Rams, multiple sources report.

"I was tired of going to different colleges and being one of the top prospects after camp and not receiving an offer," Watson told the Reporter Herald. "I wanted to go into the season with having an offer and a commitment to a school and not worry about what school I'm going to play at and who was going to offer me. I felt like Colorado State was the place for me to play football."

The 6-foot-1, 233-pound Watson holds an FCS offer from South Dakota State and received interest from Iowa. Colorado State linebackers coach Tim Skipper spearheaded the Rams' pursuit.

Watson was a top performer this spring on the Nike circuit, posting an electronically timed 4.83 40-yard dash, 4.22 20-yard shuttle, 31.7-inch vertical, 37.5-foot power throw and 102 SPARQ.

The Rams have three verbals.
