RB Martin, TE Behr commit to Rutgers

Heralded running back Robert Martin (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg) and sleeper tight end George Behr (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) have both committed to Rutgers, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Martin was offered by Arizona, Buffalo, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo and West Virginia. He earned AAAA All-State recognition last fall after rushing for 1,759 yards and 18 touchdowns on 139 carries (12.7 yards per carry).

Rutgers is the only program to offer the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Behr, but he was receiving interest from Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois and Pittsburgh.

Behr, who visited Rutgers last weekend for the Friday Knight Skills Camp, spoke with NJ.com about his decision.

"I really liked their coaching staff, what the coaches do for their players and how interested they were in me as a person," Behr told NJ.com. "They don't just look at me as a player, but also as a person. I see a bright future for me there."

Following the two commitments, Rutgers now holds 13 verbals for 2014 and is pushing to enter ESPN RecruitingNation's class rankings.
