Green isn't only prospect at Hermitage

Derrick Green isn't the only college football prospect at Richmond (Va.) Hermitage.

The ESPN 150 tailback has two teammates that are receiving college interest: athlete Brian Brown and defensive tackle Nile Liverpool.

“It's going pretty good,” Brown said of his recruitment. “I have three offers from East Carolina, Pitt and Richmond. I like all the schools so far.”

Brown said he likes the campus and coaches at East Carolina and the coaches at Richmond. Pittsburgh will require a bit more investigation. Brown said he plans to visit the school Sept. 15 to see the Panthers host Virginia Tech. Among the trio of schools that have offered, Pitt is the farthest from home.

“It's not really that big of a factor at all, really,” Brown said of the distance, adding he won't announce his decision until after the season.

Liverpool is still awaiting his first scholarship offer. The 6-foot, 295-pound prospect has seen recent interest from Wake Forest, William & Mary and Richmond. He said he's also interested in West Virginia, where he plans to visit this fall.

Both prospects are hoping the exposure from their school's nationally televised game last month will help their recruiting. Hermitage beat Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy 38-0 on ESPNU.

“I think it helped my exposure a little bit,” Liverpool said.
