ESPNU 150 prospect Drae Bowles (Jackson, Tenn./Jackson Christian) had a chance to show off his versatility this fall. This Tennessee four-star commit played a lot at running back even though he’s the nation’s No. 15 wide receiver and according to Jackson Christian coach Matt Underwood, Bowles didn’t disappoint.
“We had a roller coaster of a year,” Underwood said. “We struggled early and had to win out over the last four games. We did then got beat in first round. We experienced real low lows and high highs. For us, Drae had a good year. He didn’t have the stats at receiver because he was more of a runner for us this season. He had a great year and scored 19 touchdowns. Drae made some really big plays.”
Bowles, 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, rushed for over 500 yards and had over 500 receiving yards. He's No. 101 in the ESPNU 150.
“From a wide receiver standpoint, I saw improvement in his route running,” Underwood said. “Drae was better coming out of his cuts. Drae has really good hands and is a strong receiver who’s a tremendous blocker for us on the outside. He gives tremendous effort.”
