Drew Barker has a plan, albeit a tentative one.
The junior quarterback from Hebron (Ky.) Conner told ESPN on Monday that he'd like to announce his college decision in January, February or March. However, that's not set in stone.
When asked why he wanted to announce his decision so early, Barker said, "Just to focus on my senior year and to start to recruit for my school. If I don't feel right during those months then I won't do it,but that's what I'm shooting for."
Barker's recruitment has ramped up recently. The junior has long had a handful of scholarship offers. The most notable are from South Carolina and Louisville.
However, he's shown strong interest in Notre Dame and Ohio State. Barker will visit Notre Dame on Nov. 17 for the Wake Forest game. He'll visit Ohio State on Nov. 24 for the Michigan game.
Barker has taken several visits to Columbus before. Notre Dame is the newcomer after showing recent interest. So far, every school is in the running.
"No finalists yet," Barker said. "And I'm interested in Notre Dame. Always wanted them to contact me and I've always wanted to go to a game."
Barker could be a strong option for the Fighting Irish, who are being picky with quarterbacks. Notre Dame has only offered one quarterback for the 2014 class: Brandon Dawkins from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian.
