Rayner will stay in the Carolinas

Keilin Rayner is Carolina through and through.

For proof, just look at his list of scholarship. All are from either North or South Carolina: North Carolina, Duke, North Carolina State, East Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson.

Rayner has taken one official visit, to North Carolina on Oct. 7.

“It was pretty cool,” the three-star outside linebacker from Leland (N.C.) North Brunswick said. “Met a couple of players that were pretty cool. It was just an overall good feel. I could see myself going there.”

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Rayner said he's not worried about the Tar Heels' NCAA issues. That relief came after a conversation with Everett Withers in which the head coach said that self-imposed sanctions should lessen the NCAA's punishment.

Rayner said he plans to take official visits to East Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson.

Rayner had a whopping 180 tackles in 2011.
