On the heels of his biggest win of the season, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas quarterback John O’Korn received an offer from Louisville.
The three-star prospect has been committed to Houston for several months but has been hearing from Wisconsin and Louisville. However, any school pursuing the 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior will have to wait another week as Aquinas shocked top-ranked Manatee, 28-18, to advance to the Class 7A state championship game against Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln next Friday.
On Saturday O’Korn was still buzzing about the victory.
“I think we just flat out beat them in every phase of the game,” O’Korn explained. “Our OL was unbelievable and our defense held them to 18 points. They hadn’t scored less than 40 all season.”
O’Korn says he’s being recruited by Clint Hurtt and Shawn Watson at Louisville. It’s likely he will take officials to Louisville and Wisconsin but will not decide on it for another week.
“I’ve been telling the schools I talk to that I’m focusing on winning a state championship and I’ll talk to them about visits and stuff after the season,” O’Korn added.
O'Korn remains committed to Houston, but it’s clear he’s looking around.
“I’m still committed to the Houston program but Louisville and Wisconsin are coming on strong,” O’Korn said. “I feel like a lot more offers are on the way.”
