ESPN 300 wide receiver Richard Benjamin (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Bay Tech) will be taking his official visit this weekend to Louisville and hopes to return to Tampa as a remember of the Cardinals' 2013 recruiting class.
Rports surfaced this week that Benjamin verbally committed to the program though the coaching staff wants him to take his official first.
“They want to see me there and meet with Coach [Charlie] Strong before making everything official,” Benjamin explained. “I think it will work out; it’s where I want to be.”
Benjamin rushed for 666 yards and six touchdowns and added 35 receptions for 508 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. He said he could play either side of the ball at Louisville.
“They are looking at me as an athlete so I could start out in the secondary,” Benjamin added. “I’m ready to do whatever they ask of me.”
Benjamin has also been looking at Purdue, USF and West Virginia in recent weeks.
