ESPNU 150 cornerback Tracy Howard of Miramar, Fla., is planning to push back announcement date.
The four-star prospect was originally planning on making his final decision on Jan. 7, but he wants to take official visits later in the month.
"I want to go see Alabama and LSU, and I won't be able to see either of them until the middle of January," Howard said. "I'm not going to make a decision until I see those schools."
Howard actually did the Gator chomp after grabbing an interception in the first half of the Class 8A state championship game Saturday. There were multiple coaches from the University of Florida in attendance and sitting with his mother.
"They were sitting next to my mom, so I wanted to show them a little bit of love," Howard added.
Howard says he might take an official to Florida or USC in January as well. He has already taken an official visit to Florida State and developed a strong relationship with FSU defensive coordinator Mark Stoops. Stoops was rumored to be leaving the Seminoles for Auburn earlier this week but recent reports suggest the coach will be staying.
"He told me he wasn't going to Auburn and it's good to see he's a man of his word," Howard said. "I have a close relationship with him and Coach [Eddie] Gran.
"I just want to get to know Coach Jimbo [Fisher] better."
