Cornerback Fidel Montgomery (Summit, Miss./Southwest Mississippi) visited USF today and came home from the trip committed to Skip Holtz and the Bulls.
“Yes sir, I committed to USF,” Montgomery said. “It’s a great situation for me with the playing opportunity there. They need corners. I also really liked the academics there and the support system they have. The coaches seem like they are good people and seem like they would be good mentors.”
Montgomery, 5-foot-11 and 183 pounds, is from Marianna High School in the Florida panhandle. He signed with Troy out of high school but had to go to junior college.
“USF recruited me out of high school so I was a little familiar with them,” Montgomery said. “It all worked out.”
Montgomery committed to USF over Mississippi State and Minnesota. For the season he had 121 tackles, one interception, three forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.
