Davey talks Washington State pledge

Norland (Miami, Fla.) defensive back Feddie Davey was considered to be the “glue” of the Vikings' state championship team.

Now the 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior will be looking to bring the same success to Mike Leach's Washington State program.

Davey, who recently received his first FBS offer from Florida Atlantic, committed to Washington State shortly after an offer was extended last week.

“Coach Leach said he wanted some winners in the program and I can't wait to play for him,” Davey said. “I feel like Coach Leach is a winner, he won at Texas Tech and he will win big at Washington State.”

Davey said he will take his visit to Washington State on January 20. He is also planning on official visits to Florida Atlantic on Jan. 13 and Southern University on Jan. 27.

“I already have the visit to Southern set up,” Davey added.

But it appears that Davey is headed west.

“This was my first BCS offer and I think my game fits well in the Pac-12,” Davey said. “I just want to fulfill my dream of playing big-time football.”
