The Bulls landed a commitment Wednesday from Deiondre Porter (Tampa, Fla./Jefferson), a high school quarterback who could play corner for at South Florida, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Coastal Carolina, Iowa State and Samford also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 167-pound prospect.
Last fall, Porter threw for 2,276 yards (61 percent), 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions and rushed for 400 yards and five scores.
Additionally, this spring he displayed the athleticism necessary for a move to the defensive backfield. He registered an electronically-timed 4.67 40-yard dash and 36.9-inch vertical at a Nike Combine.
USF has eight pledges for 2014.
