Gainesville (Ga.) sophomore quarterback DeShaun Watson is already garnering a lot of recruiting attention after his record-breaking 2011 season. Watson now has verbal scholarship offers from schools such as Clemson, UCF and Vanderbilt. The Commodores offered him earlier today.
Watson was 229-of-337 for 3,221 yards with 41 touchdowns this past season -- the most in the state of Georgia -- and six interceptions. He also rushed 156 times for 1,073 yards and 16 touchdowns.
As a freshman, Watson passed for 2,100 yards, 17 touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing for 500 yards and five scores.
Watson is 6-foot-2 and 170 pounds.
