One of the top running back from the state of Mississippi made his commitment today, as Michael Gordon (Camdem, Miss./Velma Jackson) gave his pledge to Arkansas State after visiting them over the weekend.
"I loved everything about Arkansas State," Gordon said. "I felt like I am ready to make this decision. I love coach (Gus) Malzahn and his offense. It's just a real good connection. This just felt right for me."
Gordon, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, had a great senior season, posting rushing numbers of more than 1,800 yards and 34 touchdowns. His coach, Cedrick Wilder, believes this could be a perfect match.
"He committed this morning on his visit," Wilder said. "I think he will fit in real well with what they are going to do on offense. He really fits their style. Malzahn will run two or three backs, and I think he will get in that rotation right away. It's a perfect fit."
Gordon is the No. 44-ranked running back in the nation and the No. 13-rated recruit from the state of Mississippi.
