Jaylen Walton (Memphis, Tenn./Ridgeway) has decided to stick with Ole Miss, despite opening up his recruitment when Houston Nutt was fired.
“Actually, [new Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze] was recruiting him pretty hard when he was at Arkansas State,” Ridgeway coach Durron Sutton said. “He’s a real good fit in their offense and for what they do. If he was a big back that gets downhill I would say no and tell him to change his decision. But he’s all done and all set with Ole Miss.”
Walton, 5-foot-8 and 170-pounds, is a three-star recruit and the nation’s No. 68 ranked running back prospect. He’s also the No. 26 rated prospect from the state of Tennessee.
Walton rushed for more than 2,000 yards his senior season. He’s a spread back with excellent speed and quickness and is great in space. Walton made his official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend.
