Mandeville, La., running back Charles Jones selected Kansas State Monday evening, following an in-home visit with Wildcat receiver coach Michael Smith. The 5-foot-10, 178-pound running back with 4.73-second speed in the 40-yard dash picked K-State over offers from Arkansas State and Tulane.
“K-State recruited me as a running back, but I can play a number of psotions,” Jones said. “I’m going to take my visit to Manhattan this weekend, and when I’m up there, it’ll be a great chance to visit with Bill Sndyer. I’ll be excited to visit with him.”
Jones rushed for 1,700 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He also tallied 31 passes for 321 yards.
