It was a big weekend for quarterback Jeremy Johnson (Montgomery, Ala./Carver). He visited Baton Rouge for LSU’s junior day and came home with a scholarship offer.
“LSU offered me on Saturday while I was there,” Johnson said. “I love the campus. What a great place. And I know they are a super program that really wants me. My daddy and I had a great talk with coach [Les] Miles. I know those two had a real good conversation. It was a terrific visit.”
“The next offer could be from Oklahoma,” Johnson said. “I know I want to see them this spring as well as Ole Miss. But that depends on basketball.”
Johnson, 6-foot-5 and 210-pounds, is also one of the state’s top basketball players. This season he has played every position on the court for Carver and is averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds with the state playoffs starting on Friday.
“My spring football visits will depend on the playoffs,” Johnson said. “We are all at that point where if you lose, you go home. I would like to attend some more junior days but that all depends on our playoffs.”
Johnson is an ESPNU 150 Watch List member who is planning on playing both football and basketball in college.
