Jordand Sherit loved Florida visit

Hillsborough (Tampa, Fla.) Watch List defensive end Jordan Sherit enjoyed his weekend visit to Florida but still left Gainesville without an offer.

"I had a great time there and talked with Coach [Derek] Lewis quite a bit about everything," Sherit said. "It was really nice to see everything the school had to offer.

"Touring all the facilities and the different football meeting rooms. I've been to a few places with nice facilities but Florida was the best I've ever seen."

Even though Sherit left Florida without an offer, the 6-foot-3, 235-pound junior doesn't lack options. He has offers from Miami, Auburn, South Florida, Ole Miss, UCF and over a dozen more.

"I've very happy with the way my recruitment has gone so far," Sherit said. "I've had the chance to talk to a lot of great coaches and I'm just going to continue to work hard this offseason and see what else happens."

As well as being a top prospect, Sherit is an honor roll student and says academics will play a huge part in his future decision.

"I definitely want to go somewhere that I can plan for a life after football," Sherit said. "The key is being balanced and taking advantage of the academic opportunities that a football scholarship provides."

Sherit has visited Miami, South Florida and Notre Dame already and says he's going to check out some other programs in the southeast over the next few months.
