It’s an exciting time for James Boyd. Late last fall this 2014 quarterback prospect transferred from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston High School to College Park (Ga.) Banneker. He can’t wait for this fall.
“Langston is a new school and only about four years old,” Boyd said. “This is just a better opportunity for me at Banneker. I am going to be the starting quarterback there and can’t wait. It’s a very talented team.”
Boyd, 6-foot-2 and 177 pounds, has some talent himself. He was among several good prospects at his position at Saturday’s National Underclassmen Combine Five-Star Showcase in Zachary, La.
“I am a bigger, taller quarterback that can see the field well,” Boyd said. “I also have a very strong arm.”
While in the Bayou State, Boyd had a chance to visit LSU. Like most he came away impressed with the Tigers.
“Oh yea,” Boyd said. “I love it here. The stadium is awesome. We stopped by and saw some things. They just need to see me on film this fall.”
Boyd said he’s also hearing from Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina.
“I would like to check out all those schools but I have nothing planned yet,” Boyd said. “But I do plan to camp at Georgia this summer.”
