The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets picked up a big running back commitment today from Travis Custis (Hampton, Ga./Lovejoy).
“I committed today to Georgia Tech,” Custis said. “I have been talking to coach (Paul) Johnson for a while. To be honest they showed me the most love. I just felt very comfortable there.”
Custis, 6-foot-0 and 207 pounds, also believes he can play both running back positions for coach Johnson and his triple-option attack.
“I think there’s a good chance I will be their ‘A’ and ‘B’ back positions,” Custis said. “I have that kind of versatility. I do know that they like me more as a ‘B’ back. I think I can play either one. I will just have to get used to playing in a three-point stance if I end up being their ‘B’ back. But I am a downhill runner anyway so it won’t be an issue.”
Custis committed to Georgia Tech over scholarship offers from teams like Miami, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, USF, and Boston College. He’s their first commitment for the Yellow Jacket 2013 class.
