Tevin Horton (River Ridge, La./John Curtis), a running back prospect from the Bayou State, is still waiting on his first scholarship offer but several teams are in hot pursuit.
“Mississippi State and Louisiana-Lafayette seem to be recruiting me the hardest,” Horton said. “To be honest, I like them all.”
Horton has been fairly active this spring with recruiting, taking in junior days at Texas A&M, Louisiana-Lafayette and Mississippi State. In fact, he was in Starkville this past weekend.
“I liked the visit to Mississippi State,” Horton said. “They have a great fan base and the football players showed me a good time while you knew they were also serious about playing for Mississippi State. They all really love it there.”
Horton, 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, rushed the ball 78 times for 765 yards and 14 scores last season.
“My running style is that I keep my feet moving,” Horton said. “I stay low and am strong from my work in the weight room. I am elusive and fight for every inch I can get. I want to just keep working on my speed and I would like to be able to read the holes a little better.”
