OL Kirkland talks about future plans

Booker T. Washington (Miami, Fla.) offensive lineman Denver Kirkland caught the attention of a few people when he measured in at 6-foot-5, 334 pounds at the Miami NFTC.

Kirkland has seen his recruitment grow as well.

"I have offers from 17 programs right now," Kirkland said. "The ones that really stick out are Miami, South Florida, FSU, Ole Miss and Florida International."

Kirkland, who is being recruited as a right tackle, was scheduled to go to Miami's spring game last week but was not able to make it.

"I had a family issue come up that kept me from going to Miami," Kirkland added.

Kirkland isn't scheduled to attend any more spring games and focused on getting into shape during spring football and for summer events.

"Right now I'm looking into several different summer camps but I'll be participated with my team at the UCF padded camp and the South Florida padded camp," Kirkland added.
