Busy week at Lincoln High

Lincoln (Tallahassee, Fla.) entertained roughly two dozen programs for the first week of practice according to head coach Yusuf Shakir.

Among the busiest of schools was Mississippi State, who offered wide receivers Taj Williams and Reggie Davis.

"Mississippi State was probably one of the last schools to look at both of them and they offered," Shakir said. "They might be a little late on those two but I think they are coming after a couple of our 2014 kids strong.

"All the other programs that are after Taj and Reggie came through this week as well. And they have had the opportunity to see some of my other players."

Defensive back Kendall Randolph (5-11, 175) and linebacker Travis Hearns (6-0, 210) are two of the program's top sophomore prospects.

Randolph already has verbal offers from South Florida, UCF and South Carolina.

"He's probably the star in the 2014 class right now," Shakir said. "Everyone's looking at him, I know Tennessee is probably close to offering and Mississippi State offered him this week."

Shakir is also fielding a lot of interest on two of his offensive linemen Dakota Deyent (6-2, 290) and Andrew Laubach (6-2, 270).

"Several coaches asked for film on them and one of my wide receivers, Myles Gaines," Shakir said. "Northwestern, Maryland and South Alabama are all requesting all the information."
