Corey Cooper has three more scholarship offers to consider as his announcement date draws closer.
Maryland, Miami and Minnesota are the latest schools to offer the receiver from Raleigh (N.C.) Millbrook a scholarship, bringing his total number of offers to 19.
Cooper said he plans to visit Miami in July.
"Great school and great city,” he stated via text message to ESPN.
As for the other two recent offers, the 6-foot, 190-pound Cooper has ties to both. First, Maryland has receiver Nigel King, who is from Raleigh, N.C., on its roster. He and Cooper are friends.
"He tells me all about them so they're in good shape,” Cooper state. “I like the campus and environment.”
Minnesota's tie is also friendship-based.
"My friend Marcus Jones plays receiver for them,” Cooper said. “We played together in middle school so he is really trying to get me there. I hope to visit them.”
However, those schools' late entry into the chase for Cooper could hurt their chances. The three-star prospect has said he'll announce his decision on July 7. Therefore, the latest trio of colleges doesn't have long to make a strong impression.
