Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day running back Robert Davis added offers from Middle Tennessee State, Bowling Green and Ball State during the past month but the 5-foot-9, 178-pound junior still feels like he has a long way to go.
"I had a good spring, but I am starting to see what I need to improve in to become a top-level prospect," Davis said. "There are a lot of things I need to do. A lot more than I expected."
One of the things Davis wants to do is put on weight.
"I need to go to about 190 pounds because I think a lot of schools are unsure if I can take the pounding of a running back," Davis said. "From picking up the blitzes to running in between the tackles. I have to get bigger to do all that with consistency."
Despite the issues, Davis is pleased that his recruitment has began to pick up.
"I'm thankful for every offer I receive because that means there another coach that thinks I'm worth the time to pursue," Davis said. "I'm going to keep in touch with everyone that's offered me."
