AUBURN, Ala. -- Taivon Jacobs has been busy in the last month. The Forestville, Md., wide receiver has visited numerous schools in the ACC and Big 10, but on Saturday, he visited his first SEC school as he and his coach made the trip to Auburn.
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound prospect showed off his speed at the Tigers’ camp with a 4.44 in the 40-yard dash, but if it wasn’t for a slip, he thinks he could’ve run in the 4.3s. Still, Jacobs was happy with his overall performance.
“In one-on-ones, I think I did very well,” he said. “I made some great catches, some of them that I didn’t think I would catch, but I caught them. I was just blessed by God.”
The main reason for the trip was to earn an offer from Auburn, but that will have to wait. The AU coaching staff wants to watch his highlight tape before pulling the trigger, according to Jacobs’ head coach.
As of now, the four-star receiver claims 16 offers, but he wants to narrow that list to five by the start of his senior season. After Saturday’s visit, he says Auburn would definitely make the cut if they were to offer him.
