The Crimson Tide just got a whole lot bigger on their offensive front after 6-foot-6, 355-pound offensive tackle Brandon Hill (Collierville, Tenn./St. George).
“Brandon actually committed to Alabama on Saturday,” said St. George coach Brent Hill. “Everyone was trying to keep it hush-hush. The big thing for him is the overall program. I know he has been feeling stressed about the whole recruiting thing. But what you have to understand is that Brandon fell in love with this summer they officially offered was the overall program at Alabama. He was there on Saturday night and that just reinforced it. Plus, the Alabama atmosphere is hard not to pay attention to.”
Hill committed to Alabama over Mississippi State and Georgia.
“Alabama is getting an obviously very big kid,” Hill said. “And the unique thing about Brandon is that he can move so darn well for that size. And once he gets his hands on you good luck. He will lock on you and you will never get off. He’s also pretty quick and he’s a legit 6-7. Everyone likes him at tackle.”
Since word got out last night Hill’s phone has been ringing, especially calls made from the Bulldogs in Starkville and Athens.
“Everyone’s been calling,” Hill said. “Last night Georgia and Mississippi State called and I know that Brandon had a real good relationship with those staffs. I am not so absolutely sure that this is completely done. I do plan on talking with Brandon later today about it. I do know right now he’s staying focused on his grades and we are in the middle of the playoffs.”
St. George travels to Nashville later today to take on Donaldson Christian Academy.
