WR Eric Carter has updated list of schools

Three-star wide receiver Eric Carter (Lakeland, Fla./Lake Gibson) parted ways with Cincinnati in late July and the 5-foot-10, 175-pound senior is looking at several other programs.

Carter will be taking his first official visit of the season to Minnesota on September 22.

He decommitted from Cincinnati roughly a month after committing to the program. The end came during his visit to the campus with Cincinnati commits Alton Meeks (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) and Anthony Green (Lakeland, Fla./Lake Gibson).

"There were just some things that didn't happen...I really don't want to talk about it to be honest," Carter said. "My dad doesn't want me to talk about it and everyone's moved on."

Carter moved on to West Virginia's camp at the end of the July. He referred to West Virginia as his dream school but said his workout was just all right.

"The coaches over there like me and everything," Carter said. "I'm on their board, I'm in line to get an offer but a couple of things have to happen first."

In the meantime Carter is focusing on the programs that have offered and are continuing to pursue him.

"Minnesota and Iowa State are coming after me pretty hard right now," Carter said. "Toledo, Western Kentucky and Marshall are all programs that keep in touch and programs that I'm interested in."

Carter says that he and teammate Tyler Brown will visit Iowa State together sometime during the fall.
