Junior DT Montravius Adams getting more looks

Class of 2013 DT Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly County) is flying under the radar for now, but his coaches say that won't last long.

“This kid is a diamond in the rough,” said Jamaal Zanders, an assistant at Dooly County. “He’s an animal and a very hard worker. Montravius has had a monster junior year so far. In five games he has 10 sacks.”

After not playing much as a freshman, he started seeing the field more as a sophomore and has blossomed this year.

“He’s playing behind the line of scrimmage so much,” Zanders said. “This kid is so quick off the ball and very strong. He’s also savvy and finishes so well. And he’s only played football for 2.5 years.”

According to Zanders, Adams has one scholarship offer from Clemson. Meanwhile, Florida State, Georgia and Alabama are in hot pursuit, while Oregon and Nebraska have requested film. This summer Zanders camped at Georgia, Alabama, FSU, Auburn and Clemson.

“He’s really wide open right now,” Zanders said.

Adams will play in the Rising Seniors all-star game in Atlanta in January.
