Class of 2014 linebacker Juan Jenkins (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) was happy with his performance last week against Lake City (Fla.) Columbia.
The 6-foot, 200-pound junior was part of suffocating defensive effort in the second half that kept Columbia off the scoreboard.
"It was an exciting victory and that's the big thing for me right now," Jenkins said. "Play hard and help these guys get to state."
Jenkins has an offer from Utah, earning during a busy offseason that included camping at the Florida Gators' version of Friday Night Lights.
He said he's heard from several other programs but hasn't had a chance to talk with coaches yet.
"A few schools have reached out to me and some others are asking for game film," Jenkins said. "I really haven't had much of a chance to talk with coaches but I will soon.
"I did reach out to Utah, however, talked with them the other night. I know they have offered Ralph [Webb] and maybe if he goes there we might both check them out. Might try to see South Florida too pretty soon."
