Three-star linebacker Ramar Dennis (Orlando, Fla./Olympia) is all across the map with his favorite schools proving that distance will not be a factor for the 6-foot, 220-pound senior.
"Right now I'm working on setting up visits with Northern Illinois and South Alabama," Dennis said. "Those will be the first two officials.
"After that I have a few more programs I'm looking at as Syracuse and Illinois are both in the picture."
Dennis is also considering Cincinnati and Florida Atlantic as part of his top group. He says that each program has something different and unique to offer.
"I haven't necessarily chose my top group of schools," Dennis said. "They have chose me, they are the programs that have made my recruitment a priority and spelled out exactly how they believe I fit in their respective programs. To be honest I'm trying to focus on my senior season so this is my group. I don't expect too many programs that jump in late to have a chance.
Dennis, who holds offers from Temple, East Carolina and Western Kentucky as well, said that there are some other programs that haven't offered but stayed in contact enough to where he would consider them if an offer came.
"I talk to South Florida, UCF, Purdue and West Virginia enough through email and Facebook that if something with their numbers shake out and I get an offer I would take a look at them," Dennis added. "But the schools in my top six are the ones I'm going with right now."
Dennis will graduate in June and doesn't really have a timetable for his decision, saying he might not really dive too far into recruiting until after his senior year. However he knows what he's looking for.
"It's clear that distance doesn't matter and I'll play linebacker or defensive end," Dennis said. "South Alabama is actually giving me a choice. I just want the right fit for me. I'm not even worried about playing time because that's something you have to earn."
