It appears that Syracuse has a good chance to land two-star defensive end Raynard Felton (Jacksonville, Fla,/Ribault).
Felton, who took an official visit to Purdue last weekend, said Syracuse and Purdue are currently at the top of his list.
“Syracuse would be either one or two with Purdue,” Felton said. “Those are the top two. I feel like I have a good relationship with the [Syracuse] coaching staff, and I like the fact that they're moving to the ACC. I really couldn't tell you anything about the school because I haven't been there yet.”
Syracuse is one of Felton's 10 scholarship offers. He does not have an offer from Purdue, but said during his official visit he was told one could be coming soon.
“I just started to get recruited by them in the last couple weeks,” Felton said. “They said there's a good chance I'll be offered, so I'm just waiting for a call back from the coach. I really enjoyed it there. It's a school I could see myself at.”
Felton, a 6-foot-5, 238-pound senior, has set up an official visit to Ball State on Dec. 2, and said his other official visits will likely be to Ball State, Syracuse and either Elon or Middle Tennessee State.
Felton said he's also interested in Rutgers, which made him an offer while he attended a three-day camp there last summer. Rutgers is the only school that is recruiting him as a tight end.
“I have interest in Rutgers, but I've already seen it,” Felton said. “That's the only reason I won't be visiting there.”
Felton, who also plays varsity basketball, said he's hoping to finalize his decision in December.
