McGraw makes 'Bama trip; Elder doesn't

Alabama got a visit from one standout prospect from Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth, but not two.

While 2015 cornerback prospect Rico McGraw made the trip to Tuscaloosa for the Ole Miss game, ESPN 300 running back Cornelius “Corn” Elder did not, as previously planned. Even without his teammate, McGraw still enjoyed learning more about the Crimson Tide, who were the first team to offer him a scholarship this summer.

“Their defense,” McGraw said when asked what stood out about 'Bama's 33-14 win over the Rebels. “They made plays when they needed to. Their defense really impressed me.”

It should. Alabama's defense ranks second in the nation in yards allowed.

“That defense is extremely dominant,” McGraw said. “They have players all over the field. Their linebackers are as good as they get over the last couple of years. Their defensive backfield is good also.”

McGraw said he is planing on visiting Tennessee for the Alabama game in November. While he'll get to see the Tide again, he said the Vols will have his keen interest.

“I haven't checked them out yet,” the sophomore said.
