WR Dionte Taylor plans next visit

A week after wide receiver Dionte Taylor (Davie, Fla./University School) took his official visit to Boston College, the 6-foot, 170-pound senior was still buzzing about it.

But it wasn’t just about his experience on the visit. Taylor’s family also enjoyed their time in Chestnut Hill.

"It was a great, I got to take my family with me so they could see what I saw when I went over the summer,” Taylor said. “My mom fell in love with the city and environment. She saw what kind of an opportunity to school provides on and off the field.”

Boston College has been the leader for Taylor since he went to a camp at the school over the summer and the Eagles coaches told him he was at the top of their recruiting board.

And although Taylor didn’t commit on his visit, it’s clear that Boston College did nothing to hurt their standing with the rising prospect.

“They welcomed me like I was family once again, I got to hang with the other recruits and they surprised me with a big birthday cake since my birthday was the 29th,” Taylor said. “On the field they want me to be a game-changer and off the field I saw more of the things I can take advantage of academically.”

Taylor’s recruitment is far from over, however. Performances like his eight-catch, 162-yard game last Thursday against Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna have caught the eye of several programs.

"Wake Forest stopped by yesterday and they want me to take an official visit there,” Taylor said. “The offered a date in November and coach [Ray] McCarthy stayed for all of our practice.

“Louisville offered recently and coach [Clint] Hurtt has been after me pretty hard since then. Missouri has also asked me to take an official.”

Taylor’s next official visit, however, will likely be the shortest one he takes during his recruitment.

“I am taking an official visit to UCF this weekend,” Taylor said. “We play in Leesburg on Friday and I’ll probably drive there after the game.”
