Ryan Switzer (Charleston, W.Va./George Washington) gave himself an early birthday present -- times seven.
The four-star receiver prospect, who turned 18 on Sunday, accounted for seven touchdowns in his school's win Saturday.
Switzer helped George Washington beat Parkersburg (W.Va.) High 54-17 with 3 touchdown runs, 2 touchdown receptions, a passing touchdown and an interception return for a touchdown, he told ESPN on Sunday. He ran for 232 yards on just 8 carries.
It's that type of play-making ability that has Florida State chasing Switzer, though he committed to North Carolina in March. With looming NCAA issues in Chapel Hill, Switzer has said he's considering an official visit to Florida State for the Florida game on Nov. 24. Switzer said he is undecided about taking the visit.
"I'm really not sure to be honest," the 5-foot-9, 170-pound prospect said. "They told me they're gonna be on me until signing day."
When asked why he wouldn't take the visit, Switzer said, "I guess being loyal to Carolina. But there's nothing wrong with a visit."
Switzer said he isn't overly concerned that North Carolina would be upset by his decision to take a trip to Florida State, which he once said was the leader for his services. He said he doesn't believe Tar Heels coaches would pull his scholarship if he did visit Tallahassee.
"UNC isn't like that," Switzer said. "But still just about being loyal."
North Carolina has family ties on its side. Several of Switzer's relatives live near the campus. Still, the Seminoles are hoping that the birthday boy eventually has a present for them.
