Christian Morris has a new school he's considering.
"I'm kind of firm with UCLA but got an eye on Tennessee," the offensive tackle from Memphis (Tenn.) East said.
Morris didn't criticize former Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley, but it's clear the Volunteers have a better standing in his recruitment after the third-year coach was fired last month. Morris said he's seen slightly more interest from the Vols since that occurred. He expressed little interest in Tennessee previously.
Morris committed to UCLA in July after saying he always wanted to go to college on the west coast. Since, he has shown strong interest in Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Much of Tennessee's coaching staff has been retained as the Vols look for their next coach. Morris said he was previously being recruited by receivers coach Darin Hinshaw but is now being recruited by offensive line coach Sam Pittman.
Despite a 5-7 record, Tennessee's offense was a highlight for the team. Pittman was complimented for doing a good job helping mold the Vols' offensive line.
UCLA won't give up on Morris easily. The Bruins' recruiters were scheduled to be in town to visit East High School on Thursday.
