Versatile lineman Caleb Samuel (Macon, Ga./Stratford Academy) had been to North Carolina three times already, so on Wednesday, the 6-foot-6, 270-pound rising senior decided he knew where he wanted to play at the next level.
"I committed about an hour ago to Coach Larry Fedora," Samuel said. "The quality of the academics and football just made me feel like it was the right thing to do."
Samuel had nine offers to date, including Boston College, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. But Samuel has known for awhile that he ultimately wanted to be at Chapel Hill.
"I always had a feeling so I talked it out with my family and am a Tar Heel," Samuel said.
While he primarily played defensive end as a junior, Samuel acknowledges that a position change is likely once he gets to North Carolina.
