ESPN 300 DB Adams talks Florida visit

Many underestimate this old adage: The way to a man's heart is through his stomach. That may be even more legitimate when dealing with an always-hungry high school football player.

ESPN 300 safety Jamal Adams (Lewisville, Texas/Hebron) was no exception to the adage, and his official visit to Florida over the weekend was highlighted by a bountiful spread. While he was one of several ESPN 300 players in attendance to watch Florida down Tennessee, 31-17, he gave the ultimate compliment to the variety of food put in front of him throughout the weekend -- particularly the seafood platter.

When asked about all he ate, the 6-foot, 204-pound safety kept the answer simple.

"Everything," he said, "and it was good."

Adams, the No. 25 player in the ESPN 300 and the No. 3 safety in the country, added that he enjoyed his visit to Gainesville, Fla. It wasn’t his first trip to the campus, but he said he had a good time hanging with recruiting targets and some of the players. Many feel Florida is in the lead for Adams, who has a top five of Florida, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M and Ohio State.

"[There was] a lot of love out there," Adams said of Florida. "It was live. They treated me right."

Adams now has been to Florida and Texas A&M on official visits. He is next expected to make the trip to Ole Miss for an official visit the weekend of Oct. 18.
