Although wide receiver Jordan Cunningham (Davie, Fla./University School) was forced to miss FSU's junior day due to a family emergency, several of his teammates made the trip, including linebacker/tight end Nick Internicola.
"I really enjoyed the trip, I'm glad I had the opportunity to come here and meet the players and the coaches," Internicola said. "It's a very nice campus, and the people here are very friendly."
Internicola recently received his first offers, from West Virginia and South Florida, but FSU is looking at the 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior for a different role.
"They are evaluating me as a tight end," Internicola said. "And they are going to wait until the spring and they can watch me run routes and catch passes before they extend an offer."
The wait is fine with Internicola as is the position. Both South Florida and West Virginia have offered him as an outside linebacker.
"I'll play either position to be honest, but I would lean towards offense if I had my choice," Internicola added. "I really love having the opportunity to make plays with the ball in my hands.
Internicola said he hasn't made plans for his next trip but he would like to visit the West Virginia campus sometime during the spring.
