Michael Deeb looking at several options

American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) middle linebacker Michael Deeb is being aggressively recruited by several out-of-state programs, including West Virginia.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound junior has an offer from West Virginia to go along with Rutgers, Illinois, Penn State, SMU and South Florida.

West Virginia appears to be the most aggressive of the bunch.

"Coach [Robert] Gillespie is the coach recruiting me and he's very good about keeping in contact," Deeb said. "The program needs a big inside linebacker and they like my skill set."

The feeling appears to be mutual.

"I'm very interested in West Virginia, they recruit a lot of players from Florida," Deeb said. "Everyone that goes there seems to like it and they are moving to the Big 12 so they will be in a lot of high-profile games."

Deeb plans on hitting most, if not all, of the out-of-state programs that have offered him during a summer trip and he's hoping to make a decision early.

"I'd rather have a decision done at the end of the summer because I want to focus on my team and not have the distractions of recruiting," Deeb added.
