Offensive lineman Jordan Harris (Hampton, Ga./Dutchtown) verbally committed to Middle Tennessee State University on Sunday.
Harris, who is 6-foot5, 330 pounds, is projected to play right tackle for the Blue Raiders.
Harris has started for Dutchtown since his sophomore year. He was a member of the 2011 Rising Seniors Georgia Junior Bowl Team.
"I feel real comfortable with the Middle Tennessee State coaching staff, especially Coach [Glen] Elarbee, Harris said. "I am happy with my decision. I just want to focus all of my energy and attention now on enjoying my senior year with my teammates."
Harris held offers from Troy, Colorado State, Delaware and Buffalo and was drawing heavy interest from multiple schools.
"I have coached Jordan since he was in the eight grade,” Dutchtown assistant head coach Terry Herrod said. “I told both he and his mother then that he would sign a Division I scholarship. It is very gratifying to help a young man achieve his dream."
