Recruiting Capsule: First Coast

Program: First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.)

Head coach: Marty Lee

2011 record: 14-1 (loss to Manatee in Class 7A state championship final)

ESPN 150 prospect: Daniel McMillian (No. 3 OLB, No. 43 overall)

Top underclassmen: 2014 DB Kamren Lott (5-10, 175), 2015 QB De'Joshua Johnson (6-1, 170), 2015 LB Sherrod Pittman (6-1, 215)

Recruiting spotlight: Four-star prospect Seyvon Lowry is currently the highest-rated prospect in UCF's class and the 6-3, 235-pound defensive lineman has the sort of potential the Knights will need to be competitive in the Big East. "From the beginning, UCF was after me because they think I can be a game changer for them in the Big East," Lowry said. "It's a great program and a great opportunity for me." Lowry, the third First Coast prospect to commit to UCF in two years, hopes that a pipeline is being established.

Other recruiting news: Florida State already has a well-established pipeline at the school and will add four-star linebacker Tyrell Lyons to its 2013 class and eventually hope to add Johnson to its 2015 recruiting class. However, the big surprise came early in the recruiting cycle when McMillian spurned the Seminoles for Florida. Lee prefers that his seniors get the recruiting process out of the way over the summer and First Coast will head in the season with five seniors committed, including defensive backs Darius Whitty (South Florida) and D.J. Killings (UCF).
