Four-star running back Fred Coppet (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas) has been fairly quiet this offseason but the 5-foot-9, 175-pound senior says he's finally healthy and ready to roll.
"I didn't do as much this offseason because I was dealing with injuries," Coppet said. "I had a couple of little nicks that needed to heal so I wanted to take it light.
"But training camp was very good and I'm ready for the season."
Coppet is also ready to dive back into recruiting. He has had Boston College and South Florida at the top of his list for while and is hoping to make a final decision in the next few weeks.
This week Coppet will be heading to Chestnut Hill, Mass., as Boston College opens up with Miami.
"That's going to be the first visit and I'm excited to see everything Boston College has to offer," Coppet said. "I think it's going to be a fun atmosphere for the opener. I know the academics are strong so I'm just going to see how I feel from a comfort level."
Coppet said that his dream school is Florida State and he's hopeful the Seminoles will take another look at him after a couple of games.
"I think FSU wants to review my film after two or three games and then see where they are," Coppet said. "If they don't have anything for me then it's going to be between Boston College and South Florida."
