Javon Williams (Chandler, Ariz.) took an official visit to Arkansas over the weekend and said he nearly ended the recruiting process early.
“I was pretty tempted to commit, not going to lie,” Williams said. "I had a great visit and really loved it there. Arkansas is a great school from a great conference and on top of that, they’re recruiting me harder than anyone.
“I like the city a lot and the fan support is great there. There’s definitely an electricity about the place and I love how the players are treated by everyone. The guys on the team and the coaches really treated me well. I clicked with everyone there and felt right at home and comfortable and that’s what I was looking for.”
The Razorbacks have already done a pair of home visits with Williams and will be back in the home this week for another.
“They’re definitely on me hard,” Williams said. “It’s a great fit for me but I really want to take a few more visits before I commit anywhere. That’s the only reason I didn’t commit, it just seemed a little early. I have Oregon State and Oklahoma State in January and I know the risk, if I wait too long, my spot could be gone. They told me they’re taking three receivers so I think I have some time before I have to worry too much about that.”
