Offensive lineman Beau Boyster (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) took an official visit to Arizona last weekend and loved it so much, he’s debating whether to take his upcoming trip to Oregon.
Boyster committed to the Cats early in the process but opened up his recruitment a bit after former coach Mike Stoops was fired. He visited Arizona and is scheduled to check out Oregon this coming week.
“The trip was awesome, and I had a lot of fun,” Boyster said. “I really like Coach Rod [Rich Rodriguez] a lot. He went over where he sees me playing, either center or guard, and I love that he kept the old offensive line coach, Robert Anae. That’s a huge deal for me because I had such a good relationship with him.
“All of the players were awesome with me as well and honestly, the visit couldn’t have gone better. My parents were treated great and Coach Rod was with us the whole time and was really hands on about everything. After this visit, I feel like it basically locked in my commitment all over again.”
Will the lineman still visit Oregon?
“I’m not sure if I’ll visit Oregon," he said. "I’m going to think about it some more and will decide Wednesday. Coach Greatwood at Oregon is supposed to come on Thursday and Nevada is scheduled to come over on Friday. The last time I talked with Greatwood, he told me they would prefer if I visit (Jan. 6), but I could go this weekend if I really wanted to.
“So when he comes by, I’ll figure it out and will either let him know if I still plan to take an official visit there or not. Even if I didn’t want to visit, I know Coach Greatwood would still want to come by and talk to me. So, I’ll do that visit for sure and we’ll go from there.”
