Brandon Beaver (Compton, Calif./Dominguez) took his first official visit to Nebraska last weekend and it left a big impression on the four-star cornerback.
“I loved it there, the atmosphere was like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” Beaver said. “The fans are just crazy there, the whole game experience was the real highlight for me but honestly, I loved everything about the place.
“The players on the team really welcomed me and treated me like part of the family. I love the small, college town feel to the place and how everyone is all about Nebraska football. It’s definitely different than Los Angeles, there’s not as much to, but also not as many distractions so that’s a good thing.”
Beaver said distance won’t play a factor at all in his recruitment, adding that other than playing for USC or UCLA, he’ll have to get on a plane no matter where he goes.
“My next visit will be to Washington (Nov. 4) and I’m working on setting one with Cal,” Beaver said. “Cal is now back in the mix for me and just starting calling again. I always liked them but we lost contact for a while. Ashley Ambrose, the DB coach is recruiting me along with Coach G [Ron Gould].
“I was close to setting a visit with Arizona but with Stoops getting fired, that’s on hold for now. I’m still interested in them but I’m just going to wait and see who they hire. UCLA is still involved as well and I’ll probably visit after the season.”
