Mission Viejo, Calif., offensive lineman Colby Cyburt was set up for a crazy January, trying to squeeze in five visits over four weekends. Turns out, the lineman only needed to take one trip before making his decision.
Cyburt visited UCLA last weekend and was set to visit Stanford this coming weekend. He also had trips lined up with Colorado and was hoping to set Oregon State and Washington as well.
“I’m a Bruin,” Cyburt said. “I called Coach [Adrian] Klemm and told him this afternoon that was I ready and he was really excited for me. The more I thought about it, I realized UCLA was the best place for me and there was no need to wait any longer. I’m just extremely excited about UCLA nd ready to devote myself fully to this program.
“There are so many pluses to UCLA. It’s close to home and has a great combination of academics and football. I love the new staff, and I’m excited to be working with coach Klemm. I like Coach Mora a lot as well, and I think he’ll get the program headed in the right direction. The depth chart is great for me, they don’t have a lot of tackles and they want me to step in and be ready to play right away. Like I said, with all those pluses, I knew it was the best fit for me.”
Cyburt added that he took unofficial visits to Stanford and Colorado in the summer, so he had a good idea of what else was out there. The lineman was brought in to play tackle for the Bruins.
