Defensive back Alphonso Marsh (Compton, Calif./Dominguez) has been a rumored lean to Utah for some time, and his official visit this past weekend did nothing to hurt the Utes chances.
“I loved it at Utah; it was a lot better than I thought,” Marsh said. “To be honest, I don’t know what I expected, but it was a really cool place, and I’m definitely looking hard at Utah. I don’t want to name any leaders right now, but Utah is high on my list and sitting in a good place.
“I think the one thing that stood out most was the food; man we ate well. From a football standpoint, I like their defense a lot. They play a lot of corners in their defense and that’s where they see me as, a big corner. I think I could get early playing time there, and Utah has surprisingly sent a lot of defensive backs to the league (NFL), and that was one of the big things I learned over the weekend.”
Marsh has already visited Washington and will trip to Washington State this coming weekend. He’ll likely make his choice sometime in the next two weeks and the Utes are looking very good right now.
